Earrings

Summer's earrings appear discreetly in some close-ups. They are two silver ringlets with some texture. I bought mine in a thrift store. They are lovely!

The heart shaped birthmark

Tom says he loves the heart-shaped birthmark Summer has in her neck. It's actually Zooey's real birthmark! It can be seen in many pictures of her.

Since I'm just a little bit crazy about this movie, I made a small tattoo with the same birthmark shape as Summer/Zooey. This way I can remember that love is the main ingredient to do anything right!

Blue fairylight - Part 2

Continuing the fairylights saga!

After having painted the lights on the color I wanted, I was very satisfied with the result. Up to the point where they stopped working. Ouch! Besides having to buy new lights, I would have to paint them all over again. Bummer :-(

So I decided to buy those lights in the correct color from the start. It is very hard to find this exact shade of blue, even more outside the Christmas season (that was in July!)... -__-

But I did find them at Amazon. And they actually look pretty nice!

Blue fairylight - Part 1

Since we're close to Christmas, I will talk about the lights Summer's bedroom!

In the scene you can see in the background the lights on the headboard. I tried to buy one, but damn, it was VERY blue! I felt inside of a spaceship! Look at it! :-P

The lights of the movie were much softer, kind of a light blue ... I looked in many shops, but unfortunately I couldn't find this blue shade (seriously why is it so hard to find light blue fairylights??) XP

I thought about buying colorful cellophane paper and wrap every lamp with it, but I also did not find cellophane in this color, argh! It tried to paint it with glaze, but also failed. Since I am stubborn, I remembered about paint used for stained glass. And then it worked!

I bought some white lights, and I painted one by one with blue stained glass paint (gave two color coats to show up). I put the lights on the clothesline to dry from one day to another.

Look the final result after it was done! Better right? ;-)

This scene is not in the final version of the movie. It would be the scene where they break down, and Tom is seeing Summer everywhere. It is with a striped blouse, and the same skirt that she uses in the 8 day. The blouse is from a thrift store.

And this was my version. Ready to torment the dreams of Tom! hehe. X-D

Bedside table

In the bedroom, there is also the bedside table, which appears in the scene where they fight. It's done in a light wood. One of them has a telephone, the other has some candles, a jewel box, one clock and a Provençal white lamp with a stamped dome.

I bought the bedside tables from a store of handmade items, it's made of real wood. I made the lamp myself! I bought an white lamp, very basic, and drew a branch pattern with birds on the computer. I printed the art in acetate and fit it inside the dome. The drawing only appears when I turn on the light. Nice, isn't it?
